GRS Certification Introduction

GRS Certification, short for Global Recycled Standard, is an international, voluntary and comprehensive third-party recycled product certification. It is professionally designed to trace the recycled material content of products and ensure the entire production process complies with strict environmental protection and social responsibility standards, including labor rights protection and chemical substance restriction. This standard implements full supply chain monitoring for the recycling and reuse of waste textiles, recycled plastic and other reclaimed raw materials. Products applying for GRS certification need to contain at least 20% recycled ingredients, while more than 50% recycled raw materials are generally required to officially use the GRS label for commercial sales.

Core Key Points of GRS Certification

Goal: Reduce global environmental impact, boost the utilization rate of recycled raw materials, and realize full supply chain transparency for sustainable production.Coverage Content: Recycled material content verification, Chain of Custody (CoC), social responsibility compliance, environmental management regulations, and harmful chemical restriction control.Applicable Industries: Widely applied in textiles, apparel, footwear, plastic products, eco-friendly packaging and other sustainable manufacturing industries.Certification Comparison: Compared with RCS (Recycled Claim Standard), GRS certification has more rigorous and comprehensive assessment rules, covering both environmental protection norms and corporate social responsibility obligations that RCS does not include.

Main Application Scenarios of GRS Certification

  1. Recycled Material Authentication: Enable manufacturers and suppliers to professionally prove to global buyers that their products such as recycled polyester and recycled cotton are truly made from waste recycled materials with authoritative certification.
  2. Build Brand Eco-friendly Image: Brands can use the official GRS logo on clothing, bags, product tags and packaging, effectively enhancing sustainable brand image and attracting eco-conscious consumers and green market groups.
  3. Meet International Procurement Standards: Major global retailers and fashion brands take GRS certified qualification as a mandatory admission requirement for suppliers, including processing factories, garment manufacturers and trading enterprises in the supply chain.
